FAQ

What is your shooting style?

I would describe my style as documentary wedding photography.

Stylish, relaxed and fun! I try my best not to interfere with the running of your day at all.

How do we get the best photos?

Enjoy the day to its fullest, live every moment, and trust me to capture those big moments that involve you, and those small moments that you might have missed.

Can you pencil us in / hold our date?

Unfortunately no. Due to the number of enquiries I receive, your wedding date is only secure once you've paid the full deposit / booking fee and signed the contract.

How long do we have to wait for the photos?

I am very passionate about the quality of my photographs, therefore I spend a lot of time editing your images to the highest standard. It can take up to 6 weeks to finish the images and get the full online gallery sent to you. However, I do like to share a selection of preview photos a few days after the wedding.

Do we have to feed you?

It is entirely up to you. If you can feed me it really is much appreciated as it can be a long day for me, and let's face it, we all need energy to work at our best don’t we! But if for any reason you can’t supply a hot meal for me please let me know before the wedding day so that I can either make sure I bring my own food, or find somewhere nearby your venue to grab a meal when you are eating.

How do we receive the images?

All your high-resolution edited photos will be uploaded to a password-protected online gallery. From here you can download them and share them with your friends.

Will you visit the venue before the wedding day?

The spontaneous and candid way that I photograph weddings means that it's not really important for me to see the venue. I nearly always turn up to a venue with plenty of time to have a good look around.

We want some formal group photos taken, you can do that right?

If formal group photos are important to you, you can trust me to capture them. At our pre-wedding consultation, we will discuss which group photos you would like and the timing.

I hate having my photo taken. Will this be a huge problem when we do the portraits?

Don’t worry, the majority of couples that like my relaxed style of shooting don’t like being in front of the camera. Virtually all of my wedding couples' portraits are shot doing perfectly natural things. For example, going for a walk at sunset whilst you and your partner catch up on the wonderful events of your day.

How do we pay the final balance?

The balance needs to be paid at least 4 weeks before the wedding date, and is a bank transfer to my account.

Are you insured?

Yes. For both public liability and professional indemnity.

What camera do you use?

I’m not quite sure why I’m asked this question so much… but I am! I use the latest professional-grade Nikon camera bodies, Nikon lenses, and Nikon lighting equipment. I will occassionally shoot with a smaller Fujifilm camera body when I want to truly blend in with the guests for those real candid moments during cocktail hour. I also ALWAYS carry backup equipment with me.

Can we meet up before we book you?

Of course we can! Whether it's because you want to see for yourselves just how passionate about photography I am, or you’d feel more relaxed on your wedding day if we’re not strangers, meeting beforehand can be a great idea! I’m based in Pelsall which is a little village not far from Birmingham, but if that's too far to travel, or you're just too busy, we can do what most couples do, and arrange a Zoom / FaceTime / Skype chat.
